3 Questions I Ask Before Trusting Any Herbal Tea — Brinita

From a Founder Who Won’t Name Names

I’m a founder. I know how hard it is to build something — every brand on the shelf has a story and someone who believed in it. I won’t disrespect that.

What I will do is share what I know from the inside — after spending months formulating, sourcing, and certifying every ingredient in our teas.

You can use this to evaluate any herbal tea brand. Including mine.

3 Questions I Ask Before Trusting Any Herbal Tea

1Are the herbs whole — or powdered extracts?

The difference between a therapeutic blend and a diluted one

Whole dried herbs retain the complete phytochemical profile that Ayurveda has always worked with. Extracts are cheaper to produce. But you often lose the very compounds that make a herb therapeutic.

At Brinita, we use 100% whole dried herbs. No extracts. No fillers. My mother Vinita has been formulating herbal remedies for 30 years — she built our blends the same way she always has.

2What is the teabag made from?

The wrapper matters as much as what’s inside it

Most herbal tea bags in India — including many “wellness” ones — are made from nylon or polypropylene mesh.

A single plastic teabag releases over 11.6 billion microplastic particles into your cup at 95°C.
McGill University study, 2019 — you’re making an immunity-boosting brew, in a plastic bag.

✓ SGS-Certified · EU 10/2011 Compliant · Microplastic-Free

At Brinita, we use plant-based teabags certified to EU 10/2011 standards, independently verified by SGS. It costs more. We do it anyway.

3Who actually formulated this — and from what knowledge?

Decades of classical practice vs. a trend chased by a product team

There’s a difference between a blend created by an Ayurvedic practitioner with decades of classical herb knowledge, and a blend built by a product team chasing a wellness trend.

Brinita’s blends come from my mother Vinita Goyal’s handwritten diary — three generations of our family’s Ayurvedic practice in Rajasthan, documented over 40 years.

When I co-founded Brinita with her, that diary became our formulation Geeta.

Why I’m Here Instead of in Exports

Engineer by training. Exporter by profession. Founder by destiny.

For decades, my mother quietly documented every herb combination that worked — in a handwritten notebook in Jaipur. Three generations of knowledge, sitting in a diary almost no one outside our family had seen.

Brinita is my attempt to change that.

The next time you pick up a herbal tea — ask those 3 questions.
The answers will tell you everything the front of the packet won’t.
